  Old Literature being destroyed again!

  the society are at it again.

  witnesses at a local congregation are getting rid of old literature that predates the early 90's.

  you can imagine why.

  Depression amongst JWs

  the comments below it are staggering!

  so many suffering from depression... along with the few judgementalists.

  My depression/anxiety disorder literally halved when I left JWs. I've also noticed that JWs mope about negative things at the hall, like sickness, how tired they are, how 'hard' it is in this system, and so on and so forth. People who aren't JWs have tiredness, sickness and difficulties too, but it's not their whole topic of conversation. They have pleasures and things to look forward to and don't get so stuck in the victim mentality. Being around people who always see the glass as half empty and always see the big dark rainclouds rather than the silver lining is bound to increase depression.

  And then told you should be happy and are living the most fulfilling life possible, well you feel rotten and then feel guilty for feeling so because you shouldn't, which then leads to more depression. It wears you down.

  my son and his mormon girlfriend went by to pick up his.

  mom and her husband for a ride around town.

  they drove.

  And the husband probably counted his time as 'a fine witness' and thinks the mormon girl might be 'interested in the truth'.

  first i made love to my wife, maybe i'm better in bed then i thought, because about an hour after that my wife comes back in and i'm sitting at my desk and i asked her, "when the elders df me are you going to leave me, spiritual endangerment and all" she said, no, i don't feel endangered and we talked awhile and i talked about da ing and not sure what to do, then i shared with her a toned down version of the da letter that i posted and that led to her asking about my beliefs and understandings of who the great crowd and 144k, heaven and earthly hopes.

  i was even able to tell her how they changed or distorted the meaning of the word naos to show the great crowd not in heaven.

  i was able to show her some of the scriptures from the da letter, able to tell her a little about 1914 and how jesus did'nt invisably come in a presence, showing her scriptures on that and some more ttatt.

  Just keep showing her love. I say, JWs love bomb you when they want you to be one of them, so love bomb her when you don't want her to be one of them. Worked with my husband.

  So what types of people actually flourish under the JW regime?

  i sure as eggs know which types don't:.

  creative types: to do well at a creative industry one must dedicate a lot of time to developing one's talent, and as a jw one simply doesn't have time.

  since writing a story or painting a picture doesn't contribute in any way to prestudy, meetings or fs results it's considered useless anyway.

  Yes, and the JWs happened to be there to recruit them. It could be any high control group, but the JWs put themselves there. Still, the pentacostals and that seem to attract more people.

  Jamaican Branch Office Closing

  i'm from jamaica, montego bay to be exact.

  if there are other jamaicans here, feel free to let me know.. with that said, it was announced at our last meeting (a letter was read) that the branch office (bethel) in kingston would be closing, and affairs would soon be directed from us hq.

  now the branch office here is a large compound built on acres of prime real estate.

  LOL that's hilarious! I'm not as strongly constituted as CAA though. He has nerves of steel.

  On the plus side, I just drew a transfer of Bender smoking and drinking on the rear window of my car. Let JWs see that. I can't get dfd for putting a cartoon character on the back of my car, but it's something that will make me look really 'worldly' in their eyes. Mind you, I didn't do it to flip them the bird, I did it because I like Futurama.

  convert- converted from atheism in my teens.. are your parents / family jws?.

  The one I found had been a 'worldly' until about 18 months before we met. Find a guy like that, before he becomes a JW.

  i see people mentioning this and have visited the site looking at all posted wt's.......i see no paragraph's discussing 'generations'....does anyone have any direction?.

  Today, those in this second group are themselves advancing in years.

  Hang on, didn't they say that the first group being 'advanced in years' meant the end was soon? I remember the hubbub about that in the late 90s. So when the second group die, will they then add a third group of geriatrics?

  I've noticed that too. So many JWs have the victim mentality of "It's so harhd in this system, with all our sickness, and the pressure of this system," and on and on and on. And then when you leave JWs you realise non-JWs face the same things, but instead of whining and whinging and blaming satan, they get on with life.
